London band The Rakes seemingly came from nowehere in 2005 to be one of the many UK bands to watch as a new wave of guitar bands swept across the country like a musical tsunami. There was 22 Grand Job - an quite brilliant 90 seconds of satirical angst - and then there was Strasbourg, awith great lyrics and a riff to die for. Non stop gigging as headline and support in venues from 200 all standinmg to 12,000 seater arena venues saw their music and live performances becomes tighter than ever. Most images taken at about 180th second about F2.8 or F4 and between 400 - 800 iso on Canon 10D's and Sigma EX 70-210 F2.8 zoom and Sigma EX 28-70mm F2.8 lenses. DIRK VAN DER WERFF |
