1st PR newsletter October 2004

Hello! .. and welcome to the first interactive and image-laden newsletter about the recent busy schedules at Aquilegia Photographic based in Hartlepool in the north east of England. Right in the centre of an emerging and vibrant region of the UK it makes an ideal base for press, media pr public relations and reportage wedding photography. We take professional digital photographs in Durham, Cleveland, Tyne & Wear, Northumberland and North Yorkshire and the main centres of Newcastle Sunderland, Hartlepool, Durham, Middlesbrough and Darlington.
We have had many many new clients this past three or four months since the last newsletter HERE and some really interesting photography commissions.
Better still, every single client that has commissioned photography in the past has returned with further bookings - terrific support from public relations companies and picture desks during our first year in business, and indicitive of the high standards Aquilegia Photographic offer.
From the way we dress and present ourselves, always in a suit for ALL PR public relations commissions and event photography, to the high end digital cameras and Apple Powerbooks we use to deliver the photographs by e-mail and by burning CD's on site. We also offer website delivery as well as packages of superb prints to clients at industry beating quality and prices!

The largest PR photography commission I took on recently was for SEVENTEEN location photographs for entries to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) North East Renaissance Awards ceremony at Newcastle Civic Centre .. with organisation, photography and delivery of images for use at the evening (and 700+ miles) it was completed in 5 days, weather wasn't great and both the organisers and I could have done with a little more lead up time, but we did well !

Jonny Wilkinson is a top bloke! I spent over three hours with him on a commission for the NSPCC , and he was every inch the 'boy next door'. He's obviously very close to his family and extremely media savvy.

I have recently invested in the latest Lastolite Trilite system .. it allows you to wrap around three gold or silver reflectors to give an even lighting for corporate headshots or portraits of celebrities .

The quality of light is fantastic and I'm using it all the time now, as it adds three highlights to the eye and really lifts the image.

I completed a two day stock photography commission of ethnic minorities in Newcastle for a national charity. These are a couple of the many hundreds of images taken in the city.
