WEDDING REVIEW FOR LANGLEY CASTLE:
JOE McMANNERS

We were married on a cold clear January day in the Northumberland hills and the day went perfectly.
Both of us had had bad experiences with photographers at weddings, the endless line-ups, the wistful glances at the bubbly that everyone else is drinking while you pose for one more photos....
We almost decided we didn’t want a professional photographer after meeting plenty of cheesy, dominating limelight huggers making your nearest and dearest hang around for hours bored when they want to be in the bar.
In the end we decided to go for a 'proper' photographer and it was the best decision about the wedding we had (except to get married of course!).

Dirk was part of the day rather than an add-on.
He was a great laugh, managed to sneak in the girl’s changing rooms without a fuss (..hang on a second

......).
He joined in with the spirit of the day and managed to combine being around for the right photographs without spoiling the image in true reportage style.
He was invisible when he needed to be and directive only to improve a picture (...and when the in-laws insisted).

He also made us look good which is no mean feat!

The wedding photographs were superb, and for us, a constant reminder of the atmosphere and 'feel' of the day. There was a great variety and lots of everyone laughing, which is how it should be.

I can’t remember the wedding photographs being taken, which made for great natural photos.

He’s also the sort of bloke who you want around for drinks well into the small hours which is a real bonus.....

We both would thoroughly recommend him for our friends and for our future weddings.... (joke, beloved).
